Ex Irish Guards Warrant Officer (WO2) Ronny Kirkland was the first Mick (Irish Guardsman) to ride Off Road Competition Motorcycles for the Regt and was the Army Individual Champion from 1975 to 1982 inclusive going on to ride for the British Army team in many national and international events until 1991. He was later awarded both the Battalion and Army Colours for Motorcycling, and is still, to this day competing but now as a civilian.
