Farewell to the R.S.M
WOI A. Gardner

The Battalion walk with the RSM to the Football field
On the 27th July 2001 WOI Regimental Sergeant Major A. Gardner conducted his final fling "The Inter Company Boxing". After the boxing had finished, the Sergeant Major was seen off in true MICK style. Unknown to him he was seen off in the following manner. All credit and coordination must be given to the D/Sgt (D/Sgt Robby Wilmont) for the excellent way the whole event was staged.
Cheers
On arrival at the football field the R.S.M was joined by his wife for a quick glass of shamppers
prior to take off.

And their it was, unlike the Sergeant Major, full of hot air, this was to be a ride for about 40 minutes over Munster, Germany

The basket started to drift towards the sentries, but they stood firm and held their ground, good ald MICKS. Quis Separabit
WO1 John Mateer now takes the Battalion
Up and away, however, about 1 hour later the RSM and his wife returned to the Sergeants Mess for a few beers after the boxing, and the following evening (28.07.01) was the official leaving function of the past Regimental Sergeant Major
